Spring has Sprung

When the New Year arrived, I was ready to embrace the joy of new beginnings. Unfortunately, the next day, my service dog, Violet, needed her second surgery in three months, and a second round of the flu also hit me. It had already been a tough three months, and we still had a few more to get through before both of us recovered. At that moment, I decided that my “New Year” would be the Spring Equinox.
The sunshine and spring showers emerged as spring arrived, drawing attention to the vibrant green life.
My hands itch to play in the dirt, giving new life to the houseplants that need bigger pots and fresh soil to thrive. The empty outdoor pots and spaces come alive with flowers and herbs.
New life emerging from the remnants of winter is a powerful analogy for life.
Sometimes, we need to rest and heal, but with a hopeful mindset that spring will come, we can look forward to brighter days and embrace the new life being infused into our days.
